This past weekend, I was lucky enough to participate in the wedding of the most adorable couple - Nicole and Nathan - at the beautiful Nella Terra vineyards. We contributed the gazebo installation as well as ceremony decor. The bride requested a romantic blush and cream color scheme with just a touch of Bordeaux. We used a variety of roses, spray roses, dahlias, scabiosas, hydrangeas, and lots of olive branches and jasmine vines to achieve this lush and romantic effect. For the ceremony chairs, we also added bits of plum branches and wax flowers placed in cute little gold mint julep cups. It was a warm day for October, well over 90*F with strong winds, but I think we pulled off the florals. Have a look for yourself.
I had the honor of designing the florals for my friends Kari and Zach. Kari and I were roommates in college when we were at Cal - and that involved an equal number of late night study sessions but also late night baking sessions. Kari is the one I attribute the birth of my food blog, my love for gastronomy, and my habit of reading the NY Times cover-to-cover. This was a really special wedding for me. Set in front of a gorgeous California sunset with stunning views of the Bay Area just below, the golden light radiated throughout this wedding. I am so happy that Kari found someone who loves her and shares her interests and is willing to put up with all her quirks! Cheers to the happy couple and may they share a lifetime of joy and laughs.
